Big issue with gateway 4800 please help

what's wrong with this thing it crashes everytime i try to watch videos or play games and sometimes randomly...

Well your running vista first off so really could be any one of a thousand different things. But i would try to update all your drivers and download vista SP1 if you havn't already. Other than that my bet would be on a faulty memory stick. With the slightly vague explanation of your problems thats all i can think to suggest.

its upgraded to windows 7 premium i did some research and people are having the same problem it seems to be because of a cheap 300 watt power supply causing the cpu to overheat when theres even the smallest demand for graphics. all i wanna know is if i need a new psu and video card or just the psu?"???
