hi i have a AMD Phenom II X4 955 and ive overclocked it to 3.6GHZ, but my cpu multiplier is stuck at 16x.

Spec:
MSI 870 C45 motherboard
Corsair HX 750watts
Corsair XMS3 DDR3 Memory oc to 1500mhz

but i was wondering if i can increase the multiplier more than 16x? and ive seen other people between 3.8 to 4.0GHZ on this cpu.

You have to enable the manual overclocking in the BIOS to access the overclockable features of the BIOS, which means taking it off Auto to Manual control.

Your 955 has to be a Black Edition CPU, I don't think there were any 955s released that were not BE CPUs, here's a guide to help you.

They did release a non BE 955. I think it was an oem chip though. Like Ryan said, it has to be a Black edition in order to have an unlocked muliplier.
