AS-ROCK NF4G-DVI cpu upgrade

I have heard that AM2 motherboards will run AM2+ (phenom II dual core) processors at normal frequency speeds but with hyperthreading reduced to 1.0. Is this true for all AM2 motherboards including my old AS-ROCK NF4G-DVI?

(My purchase of an older AM2 dual core CPU from ebay ended up a dud so I'm back to the antique Sempron at the mo, and before anyone asks...yes, I'm strapped for cash and a complete upgrade would be too expensive)

Cheers,

Dave

Some do others don't. According to the CPU support list http://www.asrock.com/mb/cpu.asp?Model=ALiveNF4G-DVI your board does not support AM2+ CPU´s
