Hello everyone! This is my first attempt at trying to piece together my own rig. I've got little experience, other than swapping out RAM, so bear with me.
APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: About 1 month
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Games, Movies, Surfing the Web, writing papers
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitor
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.com, tigerdirect.com
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: NJ, USA
PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD setup, primarily
OVERCLOCKING: Not initially, maybe in the future
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Not for some time, maybe in the future
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 max (using an HDTV as a monitor), 1280x800 works for me too, any setting for HDTV aspect ratio
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I was hoping to upgrade to a DirectX 11 compatible video card, but I can live with DirectX 10.1
I'm looking to make my setup fast, while trying not to sacrifice too much in performance or graphics, if you please.

I'm looking to run Star Trek Online at mid to high video settings, while not taking a steep toll on speed. Mass Effect 2, Dawn of War 2 and Starcraft 2 are on my hit list for the future.
