Bad bios checksum

Hi all,
I have recurring problems

when booting up i get the following and have to press reset
button:

Bad BIOS Checksum performing BIOS recovery
Checking Floppy , floppy not found
Checking CD-Rom, CD-Rom not found
Checking Floppy , floppy not found
Checking CD-Rom, CD-Rom not found
Checking Floppy , floppy not found
Checking CD-Rom, CD-Rom not found
Checking Floppy , floppy not found
Checking CD-Rom, CD-Rom not found
Checking Floppy , floppy not found
Checking CD-Rom, CD-Rom not found
etc
Do i have a bad bios and what i have to do? Thanks for any advices.

It just started to happen last 2 weeks, sometime it booted up with no propblem, sometime i've turned off and on right away and it worked, now it's total dead, on screen say bad bios checksum.....

Sounds like your CMOS battery is dead, The small battery on the motherboard that keeps all the BIOS information stored when your PC is turned off.

CMOS batteries are pretty much watch batteries, So if you just go to the store with your original one you could probably get a replacement.

Oh and tell me did you try to flash/update the BIOS lately?
