Overclocking my Intel Q8300

Ive overclocked my Q8300 and it seems pretty stable. My FSB is 400 (which seems to be max for my current MOBO) which gives out 3.01Ghz. I do however have my core voltage set to auto. My question to you is how do you know what voltage is right for your current overclock?

  1. Depending on the quality of your sample you can even undervolt your chip and maybe manage higher clocks. I got my Q8200 humming away at 3.25ghz on only 1.16v after vdroop.
  2. Ive got the following setup:
    Asus maximus formula mobo
    corsair 2.1v ram
    kingston 2.2v ram

    fsb 475
    ddr 951
    ddr_voltage ref 0
    ddr_voltage 2.2
    cpu voltage 1.285

    All cpu options disabled.

    stable runing @ 3.57ghz

running those voltages on 5-5-5-18 timings and it aint stable with anything less.

    Hope this helps :)
