Will tri channel work on a comp with 4 dimms

Hello,

Im looking to buy a crosshair iv formula with a phenom II X6. The site im looking to buy this off has 6bg of ram on the computer in 3 X 2gb setup, but the board only seems to have 4 dimms so how can this work, or does it work is more the question.

It will work, but it runs in single channel.
