Hi,

Just build my new mid range spangly PC.

Mobo - Asus M5A97
CPU - Fx 4100
CPU cooler - Hyper 212 EVO

Now I want to over clock it to a sensible 4.4 GHz

Could anyone advise the best/easiest way to do this so it is stable and don't have to touch many buttons in the BIOS?

Also if my PC BDOS, how do I reset it so it works again?

Cheers and all comment appreciated!

More about : 4100 advice appreciated

raise the cpu multiplier to 22. i wouldnt recommend raising the voltage for a long overclock. stock voltage should be fine for that clock speed. also, run a 24 hour prime 95 stress test. if it bluescreens or errors, the oc is not stable.

The 4100 can take a lot, also with that heatsink you can go a little higher if you want. 22.5 or 23. Though I would err on the side of caution and start out at 22. If you stress test it and all is good up the multiplier to 22.5, then 23 if you're feeling comfortable enough with it. Just keep an eye on your temps and remember to stress test and you should be fine.
