FILE RECOVERY

Hi All, I have a WD 500GB usb hard drive which was working fine and my data was visible. I left my the hard drive connected to the pc which went into hibernation. On starting the machine back up my files were not visible. I have checked to see if they are still there and the drive readys 385gb used, but I cannot see or open them.

Can anyone help me access my data?

Have you tried restarting your computer?

For some reason Hibernation screws up some USB devices.

Thanks for the reply, PC has been restarted, i have also checked folder options to allow hidden files to be seenand, also tried it on another pc with a different O/S. but no joy as yet. Any others possibilities?

I have used the Kernal for Windows Data Recovery software and it hangs at step 3. I have left the system running for two days and it has not moved any further. I think I am running out of options unless anyone has other options or ideas?
