Need to know more about your machine. Getting a top end Graphics card with an old slow processor is waste of money. Bottleneck will occur to slow card to performance levels of cheaper graphics card. More info is needed about your system.

Which Radeon 5850? Look I am always confused in the names of these graphic cards like ATI Radeon 5xxx , Palit Radeon HD 5xxx and many more...

So which is the card you are telling me and also please tell me the difference between the cards...

I have the same confusion with the series GTX... like nvidia GTX..., zotac GTX... and others. What is difference between them and what is the similarity between them or all of them are the same just the company is different? Please help me out because this is very confusing...

We asked you to mention your System specs and monitor native resolution....

Sapphire Radeon HD5850 will be good.

That's pretty much like buying a standard Mercedes or AMG Mercedes or Brabus Mercedes. Generally speaking, the components will be Mercedes - and some tweeking may or may not occur on AMG/Brabus side.

Same thing with Zotac, PNY, XFX, EVGA etc. They put the card together and may or may not tweek it with things like better cooling compnents or 'tune' the card to make it faster. So your friend is recommending a specific tuner to purchase your card from.

That is the best analogy I can give you.

So what everyone is suggesting to you is do not get AMG Ferrari (GTX 285) from June 2006, instead get the January 2010 Brabus Bugatti Veyron becuase it comes with 2 cupholders and 4 turbos and the Ferrari doesn't.

Anyway, the AMD HD 5850 is better and the HD 5870 is the BEST!

Well you really don't need to spend that much on a video card for that resolution. Even a card half the price like the HD5770 will be overkill for that monitor. Only consider the HD5850 if you plan on upgrading your monitor as well.

You are looking for a Rs20000 Gfx card for 1280X1024 resolution!!!

Are you going to change the Monitor anytime soon?
Cuz the gfx card mentioned(5850) can play at settings like 1920X1080 as smooth as butter!

Better get a new screen for Rs 10000(You'll get 23" full HD LCD) and Rs10000 gfx card such as HD 5770.

For a monitor look for something with a native resolution of 1920x1080 or higher to go with the HD5850. For gaming one with a low response time(2ms) is a good idea but some people don't really notice the difference.
As for the brand of card they are all basically the same apart from the cooler, warranty and, of course, price.

They are both good manufacturers and the cards should be equally reliable. What warranty the manufacturer offers varies by country so you should look into that yourself.
I would suggest deciding mostly based on price.

Samsung 2233SW for Rs9500 is a very good monitor.

BTW what is your budget for the monitor?
