Acer i3 and xp

Hello,
i recently installed xp on my acer aspire 5740.
but booting is very slow and all other operations are also slow
is there an compatiability issue of i3 hardware

did you install the chipset drivers and SATA drivers?

Right click my computer, click manage, click device manager, see if there are any yellow question marks or exclamation points.

i had the acer driver cd with the laptop and it had all drivers in the xp folder
i installed all of them and all hardware including the keyboard hotkeys is working ok

but the overall performance is not upto the quadcore mark

i checked that but did not notice any hardware issues
i also tried defrag and cleanup also right now there are not much of softwares installed but still it is slow
even chrome takes a long time to start
i am really confused and thinking of upgrading to win 7
