Hello, this is a rather silly question but how do I figure out what motherboard I have? I have a Gateway dx4840-03c desktop and when looking online, all it says is a Systemboard with Intel H57 express chipset. Now this isn't the name of the motherboard itself is it? The screen that would tell me while booting up goes by way too fast to read it. How can I tell without opening the case for fear that it will void my warranty? Thanks.

Corycool,

The Gateway® DX4840-03e series has the Intel® H57 Express Chipset motherboard, that means it is not a original Intel Motherboard, however it uses the Intel® Chipset. Possible the motherboard is manufactured by gateway or a different vendor.
For more information on Intel® H57 Express Chipset, you can refer to the below web link:

For specification and details on your Gateway® DX4840-03e, please refer to the below web link:

Please write if you have more query on the same.

I know that you've probably got a new computer or have figured this out but for those (like me) who were wondering what type of mobo is in that computer. was the h57h-am2 only compatible with Intel cores i3, i5, and i7. The socket type is LGA 1156, 4 x 240-pin DDR3 DIMM slots for memory.
1 x PCI Express x16 (2.0) , 2 x PCI Express x1 (2.0), 1 x PCI v2.3 Expansion slots. Realtek high definition audio. The form factor is Micro-ATX.

Source: I looked in the computer, got the name, and got the information on the board here
