Hi guys, first time poster so go easy. I looked for prior posts but most people were looking to go the opposite direciton.

I have a few old PATA/IDE drives that are sitting around and I would like to try to use them in a new system I am building (this is the mobo I'm using http://www.amazon.com/ASRock-MB-Z68X4G3-Intel-Z68-Mothe...)

Is there some kind of converter I can use, since the mobo only seems to have SATA now and the HDD's are PATA.

Speed is not an issue, I'm only looking to use the drives for static storage (and therefore seemed silly to pay $200 for a new set of "fast" and updated drives).

that's perfect. will there be problems with stability?

speed is not an issue but data integrity is still key for me

oh too late. i had 3, but the converters are like $4 on ebay so not terrible. but you're right, the controller might have been smarter since i have quite a few.
