I've recently acquired a defunct laptop with a functioning 65nm Core 2 Duo processor.

I'd like to put it in my girlfriend's laptop with a 915GM Motherboard chipset.

Officially, this processor is not supported by this chipset, but I'd like to know if it might work anyway or if I can to make it work, like flash it with a 945GM BIOS or something.

What do you think?

Are you sure that desktop processor is compatible with that laptop motherboard?

Not that I know of. The 975/965 were the first boards to support the C2D. They later brought it down to the 945. The 915/925 is simply to early.

there's an extra set of signalling voltage required by c2d on the mobo, so if its not there, it won't work.
