NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS card issue

Hello,
I have a 2004 Dell 3000 w/2gb of ram.I put a GeForce 8400GS card in and it works good untill I go to the NVIDIA web site to update the drivers.After all is done & the system reboots all I get is a blk.or blue screen.I have a Dell 22 inch HD monitor & have heard that the problem might be the screen resolution.But if that were the case why would it work before the drivers are updated. Can anyone help me ??

Then roll back your driver, it seems the latest driver don't suit u.
Sometimes, the older version of driver can be more stable...

OK, I just thought you should always update the drivers for peak performance but your right if it don't work that can't be true.

Also,I don't know if this makes any sense but I can't use the sleep mode either.It wakes with a black screen.I have to reboot to get a screen

I'm use the old driver(9.7) that came with my card(4850) and it's work great, i never update it...
Well, many people experience the same issue as u did, honestly, i don't know why either...
