How to check motherboard function

Hello,
I have a T30 IBM Laptop. The Bios works well. Does this mean that the motherboard is funtioning properky.

If you are able to boot up to Windows desktop and all components are working (I.e. Graphics card, LAN, sound.. Etc.), it is a sign the motherboard is working.
