I've just put together a budget pc for a friend to surf the web with and according to the BIOS the PC 5300 DDR2, which should run at 667mhz is only running at 533mhz. The mobo is a asrock n68-s UCC, compatible with up to 1066mhz DDR2 and the processor, an amd sempron 140 2.7ghz is compatible with DDR2 and 3.
I only have ubuntu installed so I can't give you a cpuz reading!
Any idea as to why this would occur?...And how I could solve this! Cheers
More aboutddr2 running 533mhz 667mhz
Bios wont let you adjust up to 667? It won't let you "overclock" to its rated speed?
It will indeed. I just don't get why on auto it would "underclock" it. Not like there's an FSB to consider.
