DDR2 running at 533mhz instead of 667mhz

Hey guys,

I've just put together a budget pc for a friend to surf the web with and according to the BIOS the PC 5300 DDR2, which should run at 667mhz is only running at 533mhz. The mobo is a asrock n68-s UCC, compatible with up to 1066mhz DDR2 and the processor, an amd sempron 140 2.7ghz is compatible with DDR2 and 3.

I only have ubuntu installed so I can't give you a cpuz reading!

Any idea as to why this would occur?...And how I could solve this!

Bios wont let you adjust up to 667?
It won't let you "overclock" to its rated speed?

It will indeed. I just don't get why on auto it would "underclock" it. Not like there's an FSB to consider.

you can run cpuz on ubuntu.

I'll clock it to its rated speed and hopefully it'll be stable.
