Hello, I have been getting the dreaded hypertransport sync flood error and was hoping that replacing my MSI 790X-G45 AM3 motherboard will help alleviate the issue.

What would be your recommendations for a new motherboard that supports crossfire with an AM3 socket? I most likely won't perform any overclocking.

Here is my current setup.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
GIGABYTE GV-R583UD-1GD Radeon HD5830
8GB Total: Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3
Cooler Master CPU Cooler RR-910-HTX3-G1

Thanks in advance. Looking at the $100-$200 dollar price range unless someone has any ideas on how to fix the "HTSFE" error.

  1. I have a co-worker who has the ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX motherboard and has had no problems with the same cpu and memory. I will give this a try.
  2. RMA'ing the card back to NewEgg. I wouldn't recommend buying this card.
  3. Got a new Nvidia GTX 470 and have not had any problems so far.
  4. Can someone close this thread for me (or pick best answer). It doesn't seem to let me pick the best answer when responding in my own thread. Thanks
