Asrocl extreme4 overclocking help

hello, i just got this motherboard and a 2500k and when i try to overclock manually cpu id says 3.8ghz while prime is running but without it windows just says 3.30ghz how do i get it to stay at a constant clock. plz be specific.

Windows doesn't report overclocked speeds on SB chips.

Why would you even want a constant clock? Just have it clock up when you use stressful programs.

it only reports it as an extra boost to the turbo boost @ 4.2ghz
