Microphone sound problem

Hello,
I have just changed to a machine which has Vista installed. I am unable to get my microphone to accept any input from me. When I make voicecalls, the person can hear me but I can't hear anything. Any ideas anyone?

hav u installed ur mobo audio drivers, or try to setup ur microphone in control panel. open sound and devices and check whether the microphone tab is highlighted or nor if not right click on that one and give set as default

try to install mobo audio drivers check in that one first whether ur microphone is working or nor ofcourse vista doesnt need any mobo drivers to install. try like these as once
