Upgrade or new

Hello everyone, I have been doing research on what my new built should be. My first built consisted of an ASUS M3N72-D, Phenom II X4 810, GTX 260, WD 750GB, CM storm scout, Corsair CPPSU-750 tx and Vista Ultimate. Now I am trying to decide if I should upgrade my present system or just built a new one. But, the advise I need is weather a good to excellent gaming system can be built withn a budget of USD $800 to $900. I am partial to AMD cpu, but I'm open to other options and all my mobo have been ASUS. Other than that I could use some advise given the budget I have. Another question is weather i should go SLI or Crossfire.

More about upgrade
  1. My recommendations...

Wait for the GTX 460 & GTX 470 to be released. Once they are released, pick up the cheapest (most likely GTX 460) and the Phenom II X4 955, which will give you a nice boost in gaming performance. I don't see you need to do a complete upgrade by going this route, since it looks like the rest of your parts are acceptable.

Another option is to switch out your CPU, motherboard, ram, GPU and keep everything else the same.

    Phenom II X4 955 BE - $163.99
    XFX Radeon HD 5850 - $299.99
    ASUS M4A79XTD EVO - $119.99
    G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 1600 Cas7 - $114.99
    (All are Newegg.com prices)
