New build shuts down when installing operating system

OK, heres what im using:

Gigabyte EX58-UD5 motherboard
i7 Nehalem with Akasa Nero cooler
6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 1.65v ver3.1 RAM
LG GGW-H20L & Sony DRU-870S optical drives
BFG GeForce 8800GTS graphics card
1TB HD

When I try and install Windows 7 64 or 32 bit or Vista it gets through the loading files part then when it gets to starting Windows the pc turns off

Ive tried 1 RAM stick changing it around in the DDR3_1 slot (white one on left)

Drives in SATA2_0 & SATA2_1 HD in SATA2_2

Tried optimized and fail-safe settings

I can get into the bios where the drives are listed, the temps all seem fine.

Anyone got any ideas where im going wrong here?

Could you try installing an open-source OS like Ubuntu? The aim is to find out whether there's something wrong with your hardware, or your software. Try using your Windows 7 installer on another computer, if possible.
