Hello,

Dinosaur here! It's 2010 and I'm still messin' about wiv an A7V Rev 1.02 mobo (with latest BIOS). Good fun for learning and no great loss if I ruin it! It serves a purpose as a server for the rest of the house as well

My question: can I connect drives to both IDE ports AND the ATA100 ports to give 6 or 8 attached drives?

Also, having read the ancient posts on the subject, they talk of loading drivers for ata. No ASUS disk so where would I get these?

OK folks. The answer to my question is "Yes". Also XP Pro seems not to need any extra drivers. Just plug them all in and they work. Must change the BIOS settings though.

I don't know why it didn't work at first but it does now.
