Comp Specs

Quad 2 Core 9300 @ 2.5ghz
6Gb Ram
PSU: ThermalTake 600W
GPU: ATI Radeon 4890

So, before I was worried about temperatures for my quad core, because idle they were hitting around 60-65 degrees Celsuis. And, under load it would be hitting it's highest at 90C. That sounded pretty bad, so I decided to take off the heatsink and reapply the thermal paste, following all the instructions religiously and then mounting the heatsink properly. Doesn't move at all.

I used Arctic Silver 5.

Now, it feels a lot cooler inside my PC, BUT; temps are now reading at 90C IDLE!?! I'm not ever going to risk putting it under load yet. So, guys, do you think it's a problem with a sensor? Because, I believe the GPU sensor is reading correctly and it says about 60C and it feels somewhat warm, but anywhere around the heatsink feels very cool in comparison which before replacing the thermal paste felt a bit warmer but still nowhere near my GPU card temps.

I'm really worried!

BTW, I've had absolutely no problems with this computer and nothing makes me believe that there is a heat issue.

I used realtemp, then Everest, both have similar temp readings.

Bios reads at 42C.
