How much can a peltier heat

more power=more cooling... but to cool a modern CPU, especially overclocked would require insane amounts of power (if your only running a peltier cooler)... but if you look in the "exploring below ambient cooling" thread at the top of the forum, they have done some work with em
 
You could certainly keep your coffee warm given a suitably rated Pelt, but the power needed to run them is on the obscene side as Ryan explains in the aforementioned thread, why may I ask are you concerned with the heating applications of a pelt instead of the cooling potential?

The max temperature would be around 180 DegC. Any higher, the solder insider the TEC will start melting.
