Does this computer need a 650W PSU?

HI there!

I currently in the market for a pc, and decided to purchase a bare bones computer. I have also bought a radeon HD 5670 1GB.

I was told that the case would need a 650w PSU (up from the 400w that comes with the computer). I just wondered what most thought?

they don't list the make and model of the 400w PSU but the 5670 draws barely any power (as well as the rest of your system), a lot of people run it on a 300w PSU.

As far as 650w, I would never listen to that person again....

Thank you for your quick answer. Yea, i felt like that was way too much power.. its probably because the psu is cheap that they put in it. But no biggie.. ill just strip my now current computer and fill out that one. I have a BFG 550W psu with 80%.

A 5670 needs, at most, about 5 amps.

Use one of these:
Corsair 400CX (30 amp 12 volt rail)

It's one of the best under 500 watt PSU's around.
