Onboard and discrete graphics combo problem

History:
I purchased an ASUS board (M4A785TD-V EVO) because of the great integrated graphics (ATI Radeon HD 4200) and my understanding is that it could be used in combo with discrete graphics cards. When I installed my new graphic card (ASUS EAH 4350) I can no longer get the video out of the MOBO to work.

Problem:
I want to have 3 monitors active and cannot use both integrated and discrete video card.

Steps taken:
I have updated ATI drivers and installed hydravision with no luck.

Environment:
If someone can identify what I need to do to have them both working at the same time, I will run the system in XP or Win 7.

hmm. ive never heard of anyone using 2 graphics cards except in sli/crossfire mode. but there must be a way. for my xp computer the onboard card doesn't work at all with the agp graphics card installed but on my friend's xp computer it lets you chose which one you want to use. any way try googling a 3/4 monitor combo and see how they do it.
