DDR2: PC1200 memory in PC1066-supporting motherboard (overclocked)?

Forgive me if this is a common question---I've searched everywhere.

I recently purchased a motherboard (Gigabyte P43-ES3G) erroneously labeled as supporting DDR2 PC1200 memory---apparently it only supports overclocking memory to 600 MHz. Should my PC1200 memory work correctly in this motherboard when clocked at 600 MHz?

Well, it doesn't. The system is unstable and repeatedly locks up when I use significant amounts of memory. When clocked at the default 533MHz, Windows crashes with a blue screen of death in minutes.

I'm trying to determine whether:

A. It's a compatibility issue.
B. The motherboard I purchased is defective.
C. My memory went bad at the same time as my previous motherboard.

I would suspect it's A, but I'd like a confirmation before I make any purchases or returns.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the DDR PDC22G9600ELK is not compatible per Patriot.
{PC2-8500 PC2-6400 PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM 240-pin}

Hopefully,you can exchange or return the memory.

Here is a list of compatible Crucial memory for your MOBO - http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=GA-P43-ES3G%20(rev.%201.0)

I hope this answers your question - Good Luck!

Thanks for looking at this for me. Would you mind posting a link to where Patriot says the memory is incompatible?
