Hi all,

I have a computer running a BIOSTAR MCP6P M2+ 6.X motherboard using CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) Ram running windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When I first installed the Ram last year It showed up as 4 Gigs, however I recently noticed that it is only displaying 2.0 Gigs, in the My Computer Properties as well as CPU-Z, and in the POST. I have tested each stick individually in each slot and they work fine. However, when both are in only 2 gigs shows up. What might be the cause of this?

Also the Bios is up to date.

The DDR {TWIN2X4096} does not appear to be compatible with your MOBO.

Here's the BIOSTAR approved list {TWIN2X4096} is not on that list - http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/memory_report.php?S...

Corsair does not list your MOBO. Also the compatible Corsair DDR per BIOSTAR are all no longer manufactured.

Kingston KVR800D2N6K2/4G - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Crucial - http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=MCP6P...

Hope this answers your question, and I wish I had better news. :(

Well its the motherboard. I put the old G.Skill Ram it used to have back in there and it only reads one stick. Time for a new motherboard I guess.
