Spacebar no longer functioning...

Yesterday my keyboard's space bar stopped functioning along with left shift+i, left shift+8, left-shift+0, 2 (just 2) and a few other buttons/shift combos. After unplugging/plugging back in the keyboard it started to function again... at least for a few hours before it returned to malfunctioning and that temporary fix isn't working at all anymore. The keyboard works perfectly fine in another computer, but switching between usb ports, trying to reinstall the (old 2006) keyboard drivers, etc has not fixed my problem. Any ideas? Typing just using ctrl+v for spaces and only the right shift and number pad is not easy

Does it work well in another computer after hours of operation? Does the keyboard from the other computer work in yours?

Regarding your first comment, it did not, and I discovered that fairly quickly. Clearly it's a keyboard problem. I went in, cleaned out and secured all of the connections and it's currently working. Only time will be able to tell if it stays that way though. I may return! Thanks for your time.

Your results meet my expectations. You might be lucky, but you'll probably end up having to replace it.
