IBM laptop not hibernating

Hello, I recently formatted and reinstalled Win XP on my IBM T41 (2373-1FU) and the sleep or hibernate functions do not work. When I hit Start button and then Turn Off Computer the Stand By function is not highlighted and I cannot use it. Also, the Sleep hot key on my keyboard (picture of moon) does not do anything. Any ideas on how I can fix this. Thanks!~

Apparently not, where would I find any specific ones related to the hibernation etc? Thanks.

In my experience you are better off without them so noo loss. If you want to set timings, power options, but I will never hibernate.

Generally, that would either be with the chipset drivers, or with a special power control program. Since IBM laptops were sold to Lenovo, try their site.
