My Presario connects to my network via its wireless connection. On the
router, I used the Pass Phrase option to generate a 128 bit key. I type
the hex characters into the Presario's connection and all goes well.

Is there a way I can set up the Presario's connection to be able to type
in the easily remembered Pass Phrase rather than the hex characters to
get a connection?

Thank you.

Does your router and presario support WPA?

The router/access point does but I'm not sure the Presario does. I
installed the WPA patch for windows XP this morning but couldn't get it
to
work so I don't know if it is an XP problem or a Presario problem. WPA
would be the answer, though.

Authenticating with the WEP key is usually a one-time affair; the key
should remain valid for subsequent connections. It might be that you
need to assign the connection to the Preferred Connections to make the
authentication fixed.

That is a good point. Will give it a try try tomorrow.
