Chris Henry, age 26, has died this morning due to a vehicle-related death. Henry was in a fight with his fiance, yesterday at around noon (EST) they were quarreling about something and his fiance got into a pickup trunk and drove off, but not before Henry jumped into the bed of the truck. About a half mile away, in a residential neighborhood, Henry was found in critical condition. He died about 19 hours later.

Throughout College & his Pro Football career, Henry was always in trouble. His coach at college called him an embarrassment to himself and his team. Since being drafted in 2005 by the Cincinnati Bengals, he has been arrested at least 4 times of charges ranging from possession of marijuana to possession of an illegal firearm.

In 2007, the NFL commissioner had suspended Henry and Adam (Pacman) Jones for a half year and a year respectively for their off-field troubles. Since then, Henry had turned his life around and he owed much of that credit to his fiance. Henry was showing promise, he was not getting into any more trouble and he was being a good father to his 3 children, he also showed promise that he was rebounding his career as an upcoming NFL star. This is something that is not easily done, it is hard to change a lifestyle, and Henry seemed to have done it.

It is truly a tragedy to see such promise amount to this. Henry (or anyone for that fact) does not deserve to die like this regardless of past decisions or how this particular incident went down. More so, his 3 children should not have to endure this either. Anything could alter a life or lives at any moment, it is the decisions we make that could be the momentum changer. Best wishes to anyone surrounding Chris' life any anyone who he may have influenced. I am not a Cincinnati fan nor was i a big fan of Chris Henry, but somehow this whole situation has moved me and i don't know why.

RIP Chris Henry

Sincerely, Jon-Paul

It's a sad ending to a troubled person. He was an amazing talent on the field. It was good to hear that he was cleaning up his image. Just sad...

Very sad ending. Back when he first entered the league and was always in trouble, I won't lie, I had the gut feeling that he would die at a young age. But I thought it would be in a shooting or drug over dose, never something like this, and not after he had worked so hard to change his image and life. Sad he never got the chance to fully change his life and truly make an impact on the NFL.
