Install Radeon 4550 to asus M4A78-EM DO I have to disable onboard graphics

Installing radeon 4550 PCI x16 on asus M4A78-EM mother board. Do I have to disable onboard graphics and how do I do this

I installed an Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 to my Asus M3N78-EM with no problems or changes to the settings at all.

I simply plugged the card into the slot, put my monitor cable into the new card, and voila.

It should autodetect and default to the discrete, but you can check and make sure by going into the BIOS and setting primary display to PEG and checking if there is an option to disable the onboard (just browse the manual or the BIOS itself).
