I have this laptop for my daughter, and am trying to get it to work on my
wireless network. It seems that I need to change the setting for the pcmcia
card in the bios, but there is no option in the bios. Does anyone have any
advice or a solution, or is there no way I can use a wireless pcmcia network
card on this old laptop? Thanks in advance.

You probably need to change the PC Card slot (and "PC Card" is the
correct terminology, not PCMCIA card) from 16-bit to 32-bit or 16/32-bit
(32-bit is also known as "Cardbus" ). It's possible that Cardbus is not
supported on that model of laptop, although I believe that it is. Check
the BIOS, there should be a setting for this.
