I have tried overclocking my AMD Phenom x4 9850 (non BE) and had success until 5-10mins into gaming. Max temp for this cpu is around 61*c and I had it running around 50-55*c full load. For reasons unknown the frame rate starts locking up periodically, making the game unplayable. My Radeon HD 6850 keeps a fair temp as always, so thats not an issue. I have been reading about people OC this to 2.8ghz without issue and even 3.0ghz with Vcore change. Might have to do with my memory, but that's where my knowledge ends.

Maybe I should remove the Samsung memory stick, since might cause complications while OC being a slightly higher speed and different brand?

OC in question:
-FSB raised to 222mhz from 200mhz
-Multiplier set to 12.5 stock
-No voltage change
-2.50ghz raised to 2.775ghz around 10% performance increase

System specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit
Amd Phenom x4 9850
3gb patriot ddr2 667mhz (3x 1gb) and x1 samsung 1gb ddr2 800mhz
500w corsair v2
sapphire HD 6850
Aftermarket coolermaster 92mm cpu cooler
Mid-tower x2 120mm fans
