my DDR1 has a met that i can get to al cover over it cannot be removed, is their another port

The Inspiron 1200 has a single memory slot that supports a maximum of 1GB additional RAM (total 1.25GB). If the head of the screw holding the cover has become stripped then you'll have to drill it out.

Technician's note: If the screw head is stripped out it's because an absolute moron used either the wrong tool or tried to torque the screw down too tight.
