Hi,
I think I seriously messed up my computer.

I kept getting the 'blue screen' and then the computer would crash, the error message mentioned something about checking the drives from the start up menu. I went in and changed something so the computer doesn't even look for the drive anymore, which fixed the crashing problem but now I cannot open the CD drive and when I have tried to mess with it get an error message that the c drive either is not available or cannot be recognized, no pathway is even listed for it.

I honestly can't even remember how I got into the start up menu or what I did. I tried doing a system restore but that did not help. Can someone please help me figure out how to get my computer to recognize the c drive again?

Appreciate any suggestions

It should not only depend on the OS.. You should try an other data cable with your CD-drive, and if it doesn't works, you should try an other drive too :p if the problem appears continuously, you have to reinstallate your OS, or check for viruses.
