Yea. Just as the title said, I'm looking to overclock m 2500k to 4.0 GHZ maybe maximum 4.3 GHZ on an MSI Z68 4+1 Power Phase motherboard. Is that safe/long lasting?

Solution
Agreed. 4+1 setups can be ok overclocking but are generally sloppy with voltage regulation and not that stable voltage wise - tend to bounce around a bit. One note on MSI, after the black sockets were introduced it seems the quality of the VRM's went up. I toasted a white socket 890gxm-g65 on my first benchmark. The black socket version I have has been running for about 8 months without a single bump and has an overclocked 8150 @ 4.8ghz - 1.5V in it. Also a 1100T at 4.2ghz - 1.55V! However as stated, voltage is not very stable.

you should be good, what cooling do you have.?
also do you know how to clock.?
