This question isn't so much about overclocking, but safe temps. I'm not overclocking but I am a little concerned at my temp readouts from speedfan. My CPU is an intel i5 750 quad (first gen) and GPU is an NVidia 465 gtx. I am pretty sure that 76c on the GPU is ok but I'm not really sure how to read the temps for the CPU. I see 31 or below on all 4 cores but the CPU temp says 72. CPU cooler is a Corsair H100. Any feedback is much appreciated and best answer will be picked as always. Thanks in advanced!

I have never been a big fan of using Speedfan for temps. Try HWMonitor and Coretemp.

I think Speedfan is reporting correctly and you should go by the cores. Those are great temps and in line with what I would expect from an H100.

The GPU temps are a bit high but the GTX 465 was a very hot running card and that was one of the reasons the GTX 460 was so much more popular.

Thanks a ton, I installed HWM and it is definitely easier to read than speedfan. I always assumed the core temps were the important part, but wasn't 100% sure since it was showing CPU at a much higher temp.

Yea I know the 465 does run a little hot but it was decent price for performance at the time, at least I'm happy to know the temps aren't out of the range of normal.
