I have a AMD Phenom II X4 940. I was thinking of upgrading to a 965. Is there a lot of difference? Should I just stick with the 940?

Just stick with the 940 that is not a worthy upgrade with your 940 OCed to 3.6 GHZ like you have it performs the same as the 965 the 965 may OC a little higher but it isnt worth it. If you want an upgrade wait for Thuban and upgrade to that.

for now i guess you should stick with the 940... i don't think you'll see any tremendous leaps in performance if you switch over to 965...

I see you have yours OC to 3.6 Ghz so probly not worth it. The 965 with the C3 revision will break 4 GHz but 400 Mhz isnt worth $180. Your board will support the new X6 phenoms which should be released shortly. Were I you, I would look there for your next drop in cpu upgrade.
