Confused About OC...

I have recently OC'ed my i7 930 to 3.8 Ghz--stable; however, the temps are really weird IMO.

Idle is 40-45C but 100% load using OCCT, Prime 95 and Intel BurnTest never surpasses 65-70C? Why are my idle temps so high but my load temps normal (these are CORE temps BTW--my CPU temp is 30-32C idle and 55-60C 100% load)? I don't throttle down my CPU fan speed so I'm confused.

The thing that is weirder still is that my CORE temps are only 3-5C lower when I don't OC. I don't think my HS/Fan is bad (Dark Knight), I recently cleaned it but my core temps are always in the high 30's, low 40's.

Any ideas? Also, should I look at CORE temps or CPU temps?

Thanks in advance.

What is your Delta-T (Ambient Temp)? What temperature monitoring software are you using? I would suggest downloading speed v4.46...Heny may be onto something as well could be botched sensors

Ambient is 23C.

Using RealTemp, CoreTemp, HWinfo64 and SpeedFan separately.

Load temps are fine and playing a CPU-intensive game like Guild Wars 2 or BF3 only causes temps of 55C or so (with 65-80% load).
