Shuttle sx58h7

Forum Systems : New Build Shuttle sx58h7

Word :    Username :

So I build this system with a GT240 graphics card, i7-920 chip and CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666).

System is up and running, but it seems like my dimm 3 slot doesn't work. I can only see 6 gb of my memory. What is really weird is that it shouldn't work at all using slots 1,2 and 4. I swapped the ram around and diffrent slots and the same thing.

I did a bios update (before that it wouldn't even post with ram in the 3 slot), but still looks like a no go. Any ideas?

1. make sure you're using a 64-bit OS

2. make sure your memory is on the compatibility list

If not, return it and have it replaced.

3. If you have a low-wattage video card available, try replacing your GT240 to see if you have a power problem.

4. Get in touch with Shuttle support.

5. Otherwise RMA the barebones box.

ram is supported so it looks like it might be time to call shuttle, or see if I can borrow a old pcie graphics card.

I did run 3dmark and it shows 8192mb of ram. Glitch in 3dmark or am I really missing something?!?!?

What does Windows Task Manager say on the Performance tab? Physical Memory (K), Total?

I would keep the 750W for future upgrades and possible SLI in the future. Will save you...
