Don't Hard Drives not take full advantage of SATA III?

yep u nailed it, don't buy the more expensive one. i don't even think hard drives use SATAII at its maximum, SATAIII is more for SSDs, and u also got to check if ur motherboard supports SATAIII. But then again, if ur motherboard does support SATAIII, u might as well buy the more expensive one since its only like 5 dollars more.
 

No, normal 7200rpm mechanical hard drives barely saturate the transfer rate of SATA I let alone SATA II. The rpm and cache of the drive have more to do with the performance of it than whether it is SATA II or SATA III.
