Corsair H100 - Will it fit?

Will the corsair H100 water cooling unit fit into the Thermaltake Commander MS-I? I wanted to move to water due to my 212 evo not keeping up the best at 4.1ghz on my phenom x6.

thanks for any help :D

  1. If you want to move to water, then move to water. Not an H100.

For the same price you can get a decent watercooling loop.

  2. ~4Ghz tends to be the limit for those chips anyway. Back it off a bit if it's too hot. You don't want to go over 62C. You really need to luck out and get a very good chip to go over 4Ghz even with water. Even with a custom loop you might only get 4.2-4.4Ghz if you are lucky. In my opinion it's not worth $100+ for maybe a few hundered megahertz you will never notice anywhere but benchmarks. It's your money though.

A decent custom loop for $125.00=H100 what kind of custom loop is that cheap? :??:

    I have the H100 on a I5 2500K clocked at 4.5 max temp on Prime 95 or CPU Burner 63C Idle 26C
Radiator mounted in the case top 240 location on the Corsair 600T with fans pushing in from the top under the black mesh grill.
    Fans are aerocool shark 120mm

    $130

They've upgraded it to a raystorm block.....
  5. I don't want to move to water, I haven't got the money. But the h100 is priced down in a shop near by here, its only like 79 euros. Also I reached 4.1ghz with my chip at 1.488v so I should be able to go higher. My max temp yesterday was 58c with prime95, on 4ghz at 1.464v I maxed out at about 52c. Also I wanted to get the aerocool sharks too! Heard their really good.

WOW should never go above 1.4 on the VCore let alone 1.488 dile that thing back before you burn it up
  7. Are you kidding? AMD says the limit is 1.5v, I've just checked. It starts to degrade at 1.5, at 1.55 your entering dangerous waters.
  8. disregard my last post i'm used to intel cpu's and i'm sorry
  9. Alright. So guys, would a h100 fit in a thermaltake commander ms-i?
  10. yes it should fit you have 2 120 fans on the top that's all that it needs to fit. The spacing may be tight I would install the cpu power connector before mounting the rad. Push pull that's harder to tell in a mid tower chances are you will be stuck with the normal 2 fan setup.
  11. That's alright, as long as I can put 2 aerocool sharks, it should be enough. Thank you.
  12. This guy also posted a similar question and said it was a tight fit

  13. What about a h80? Would it be better than a hyper 212 evo in a push/pull config? Also would it fit? Or the Antec 920.
  14. Any of the Corsair or antec units will block a large section of MOBO there is a vid on youtube with that case using the Thermaltake 760 water cooling that is bay mounted and might be worth a look. Air may be the best in that case like the Frio
  15. Might as well get a Noctua NH-D14 or a Phanteks.

TBH the H80 didn't really do anything for me.

    I upgraded like this:
    Hyper 212 EVO
    H80
    Custom Water.

Though I can say closed loops are extremely good for GPU's..... ;)
