Thanks. I love sr 2 but i use pc for gaming and so 2 xeon isn't good for me. Also Sr2 but this motherboard is awesome. I have an i7 980x now at my home and i will buy a sr2 if in this fit i7 980x.

Also into sr2 there are sata 6 and usb 3.0 and in 4 way there isn't

My Dream Configuration:

I7 980x(i have it)
Ram: Dominator gt 2000 mhz(i haven't it, i have dominator 1600 mhz cl8[Is good?])
VGA: 2 x XFX hd 5970 Limited Edition( i have it)
Case: I have haf x but isn't good for sr2 and so i change it with???
PSU: Silverstone strider 1500w(i have it)
Motherboard: Evga Sr-2(i dream it xD)
Hdd: Raid 0 ocz ssd vertex 2(i have it)

Thanks to all ;)

^ NO NO NO - I saw dual and immediately corrected T-Y-P-O WILL NOT WORK!

NO the SR-2 will NOT support the 980X!!!! I corrected before you even responded.

The Slot is indeed the same {1366} but the architecture of the Xeon and i7's are different.

OK OK

2 Xeons 5620(5680 and other is more expensive) is run better or worse than i7 980x in gaming and in a multi gpu configuration.

And case???

Thanks so much

I too am a member at EVGA and now remember you and your 4-WAY as I recall. Same question there 980X.

Anyone, will tell you. if they're being honest, that unless you do some crazy configuration the 980X X58 is the way to go with gaming. So far the build cost is at $12K. If you do Dave Truby or what I have it will at twice the price outperform the 980X. Truby did a 4-WAY + Physx, and both of us are using Koolance blocks to squeeze in other stuff {sound, RAID, etc}

I assume that you're wanting to transplant your 480's.

Let say, if money doesn't matter - these rigs aren't meant to make any sense.

I too am new to the SR-2, and I've found EVGA forum to be useless.

The case will not work without a saw w/4-WAY, and you'll probably end up needing to mod the MOBO tray. You'll be okay with the Silverstone 1500W as above - for now. DDR I honestly cannot say, I know Corsair GT's will work, but I ended up with Mushkin, and no doubt the OCZ SSD will be great.

I still haven't found a case and there's only 4 "now" that are confirmed to work + Truby's modified 700/800D w/U2 MOBO tray. Hopefully EVGA will release their case - http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1324/1/
