Hello everyone,

I recently got a hd 4850 from powercolor and well its not performing well.
I get 10fps - 30fps in source and its not playable.
IN counter-strike 1.6 I get 99.9 fps which I should but when the opponent comes in view it drops to 50 fps and again not playable.

I am using the latest drivers from ati.

Is this normal?

What is wrong?

This wasn't the case with my old 9600 xt it used to do better than this.

Thank you, any input will be appreciated.

cpu is a wolfdale 3.0 ghz and yes running x16.. I checked this through gpu-z
If the 6 pin power is not plugged in it wouldnt even power up right? So Im thinking it is plugged in

I know its a silly question but i have to ask just incase, you have plugged in 2x6 pin connectors,if so try installing a older driver,i sometimes find that installing the latest drivers makes some games run worse,i had to run MW2 and Dirt 2 on older drivers to make them playable.

Anyone know the workaround?

I checked today and saw that the 8 pin connector is supplying power. Is this the right thing? and obviously thats the one fitting.
I still keep getting the 50 fps and in source lower than that.
Please tell me whats wrong!!
