Hello,
I am trying to OC my fx6300 but I only got as far as 4 ghz before it started crashing. I was raising the multiplier only to achieve that. I tried raising the voltage my increments every time it crashed but it stopped at 4ghz. What else do I need to do to achieve a higher number? Do I need to supply voltage to other things?

Using G Skill sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 dual channel memory module
* ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb
AMD Fx-6300 cpu

I'm new to this and will gladly appreciate help.
Thanks

Static voltage is when you set in such a way that the voltage never changes.

Offset allows your CPU to downclock and undervolt at idle, but "offsets" your computers different target voltages for each "state" with a value you determine. (Usually expressed as "+ x.xxx" volts or "- x.xxx volts"

What type of Cooler are you using?

In the bios make sure LLC is set to 1/2.

Turn off cool n quiet.

With this board only touch the multipler, cpu voltage and nb voltage.

Turn off Turbo.
