Ok, so, I HAD GTX 260 that i sold because money was an issue at the time, but it isn't now, so I am in search of a new graphics card... I had just figured i would get another gtx 260, but wanted to get something online, so in the meantime, I decided to pick something up at best buy (that I would later return for a refund after what I bought online arrived).

So, anyways, I ended up going with an XFX 4650 1gb for $100... I know, I know... best buy... what can you do... but remember its only temporary! To my suprise, this card did great: Playing Modern Warfare 2 fluidly on high @ 1650 x 1080!

So, I hopped on newegg, and found a powercolor 4650 512mb on newegg.com for $30 after MIR... 30!!! Thats nuts?!

Powercolor 4650 Here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131180&cm_re=4650-_-14-131-180-_-Product

My question is... will the powercolor 4650 work as well as the XFX 4650 is?

And, alternativley... I don't REALLY want a low end graphics card... but for $30.... i feel stupid spending more if its not gonna make a difference... is it going to make a difference? Someone talk me into a 57xx something...

Solution
4650 out performs 9400 gt in every sense.
I have a 4650 and it plays every single game at maximum settings at 1280x1024
except for CRYSIS offcourse

Powercolor 4650=XFX 4650.

If you find the performance of the card acceptable, don't buy another one. If you really want to buy something new buy a 5770. It has the same performance as the GTX260, but it has DX11 support, Eyefinity support, lower power consumption.

All 4650 performs the same.
In my opinion, 4650 is worth every penny of yours.

You may wanna grab a 5830 after, because if you pick 5770, you wont feel a significant performance boost from 260

Well, if the $30 card works as well as the one I payed $100 for... I will probably just stick with it... I am still blown away that a 4650 plays mw 2 as well as it does for that price.... I just cant gver it!!! I really havn't been able to try any other games with it though... what would you say a 4650 compaires to... nvidia wise? 9400?

So, 5830 is better than the 5770? the 30 vs the 70 dosn't mean anything? Its the second number that matters the most, and then the 3rd? I had heard the 3rd number dictates which kind of card it was, budget, enthusiast, etc... i.e. 30, 50, 70, 90....
