Hi...

I know there are a multitude of laptop battery problems out there. I scoured
the net and can't seem to find anything similar to my problem. I was
wondering if anyone out there could shed some light...

Battery indicator lights as follows...

Green = Full Charge
Amber = Charging
Off = Battery disconnected or fully discharged.

- I plug the laptop into AC power and batter indicator (BI) is stays off.
- If I remove the battery and plug it back in, the BI will go amber but go
back to off in a few minutes.
- If unplug the AC and back in, the BI remains off
- If I remove the battery and put it back in, the BI will go to
amber and then off again.
- In Windows, when I unplug the AC power, the laptop will stay running off
the battery for a few minutes but the BI remains off.
- In above state, Toshiba's power utility indicates laptop is
running off AC even though it's not plugged in.
- Power discharge in less than 5 minutes.

I'm reluctant to purchase a new battery at this point. I would think that if
the battery was the problem, then the BI should go to green instead of going
off.

What do the gurus in here think. Battery or Charging Circuit?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me directly at...
